Bethel Baptist Church is a historic African American church in Luray. The congregation was organized in 1883 by Rev. Davenport. Services were held at the home of Miss Betsy Hill before a church building was constructed. In 1885, Rev. Davenport built a church that was used for worship. The original church was destroyed by a storm the same year. Three years later, Rev. Davenport erected another church. The Bethel Baptist Church is still active today.
