First Baptist Church is estimated to have been founded between 1882 and 1930. Little is known of the church’s history and its members. What is known is that Preston Scott Sr., a Black resident of Woodstock, Virginia, was the last trustee. First Baptist Church on Orkney Drive closed sometime before 1954. The building is where the Shenandoah Valley Teen Calling occupies today.
