The Tutt’s Upholstery and Slaughterhouse was a Black-owned and operated business by Columbus Tutt. Columbus "Lummie" Tutt made a name for himself as a hard worker and reputable businessman. He started his career by owning and operating the Tutt slaughterhouse then opened an upholstery business. The upholstery shop was originally in his home then relocated to a separate building built behind his home where the Tutt Slaughterhouse was also located. Tutt was self-taught and a skilled worker who made his own tools and enjoyed giving old furniture new life. The Tutt shops are no longer and the property is now a private home.
