The Abraham Hall was possibly affiliated with a black benevolent society of the early 20th century. The building was erected by William P. Hudson, who purchased, with others, a lot on Port Republic Road in 1919. The hall housed a restaurant on the first floor and a dance hall/basketball court and auditorium on the second floor. The Jolly Boys musical group held a performance at the hall. Over the years, the building was used as a music studio and a doctor's office. In 1951, Abraham Hall was converted into apartments.
