  • Turn left and in 700 feet turn left back on Simms Ave
  • Site 24 is on the left,  just right of Lucy F. Simms School
​This site was referred to as Mr. Martin’s Store and was a Black-owned and operated business in the Newtown community. The store was attached to the Martins home and many students at Lucy F. Simms School visited the store during the day as it was next to the school. Mr. Martin was a talented individual with skills in multiple professions, such as gunsmith, barber, business owner, and farmer.
