- Turn right onto Spaders Church Rd/Shen Lake Dr

Located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Route 33 and Crosskeys Road is the Jonathan Peale House, constructed in 1845. Just north of the main house is a mid-nineteenth-century brick slave dwelling. The two-story structure, which was built around the same time as the main house and reflects a similar architectural design, is a rare surviving slave quarters in the Shenandoah Valley. In the 1850 Slave Census, Jonathan Peale enslaved ten people.
