There are two African American cemeteries in Cedar Green that belonged to Mt. Chapel Methodist Church (ca. 1869) and Cedar Green Methodist Church (ca. 1880). Both had their cemeteries before the merge. Cedar Green Methodist Church cemetery is located along the south side of Cedar Green Road (Route 693). Cedar Green Methodist Church burned down, but the cemetery remains active and cared for by the Community United Methodist Church. The lot, approximately 150 x 200 feet in size, was sold for $16 by the church trustees in 1912 for a burial ground. The most recent survey of the cemetery was performed by Joe Nutt in 2000, and over 50 marked burials were recorded. Mt. Chapel Methodist Church cemetery is located on Hewitt Road (Route 703), near the former Mt. Chapel Methodist Church building. The church and cemetery are surrounded by greenery and visible from the road during winter. Joe Nutt surveyed the Mt. Chapel Methodist Church cemetery in 2000 and documented over 40 marker graves.
