Directions from Warren County High School to site 24:
- Continue along Luray Ave
- Turn right onto Stonewall Dr
- Drive for 0.1 mile then turn right onto Cemetery Lane and follow it until you reach the entrance to Prospect Hill Cemetery
- Visitors are encouraged to drive through the cemetery as it also hosts spectacular views of Front Royal
Not only does Prospect Hill Cemetery afford breathtaking views of Front Royal and the surrounding areas, but it has also been an active cemetery for over 200 years. The oldest grave dates to 1802 and belongs to Rebecca Allen Williamson, who was the sister to famous Clarke County resident David Hume Allen. Although this cemetery largely contains the graves of White residents, Several African American graves can be found, including Mary Fristoe, and Martha “Mattie” Thompson.
