Edgar Amos Love was born in 1891 in Harrisonburg. While attending Howard University, Love co-founded Omega Psi Phi, the first international fraternity at historically black college. Love was civil rights active, a US Army Veteran, professor, and bishop of the Methodist church. Love passed away at the age of 82. The Edgar Amos Love historical marker was erected in 2014.
