The surviving enslaved quarters at Clifton Farm (Clifton Plantation) is a reminder of the presence of slavery in Clarke County. The two-story structure was one of the largest in the county and is a symbol of the wealth the enslavers generated from forced labor. There is a kitchen quarters used by the enslaved still standing adjacent to the main house east of the enslaved quarters. Clifton Farm is part of the Long Marsh Run Rural Historic District listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register database.
