- Take the right exit onto W Main St
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto W Main St
- In 900 feet make a left onto Carillon Dr
- In 700 feet site 1 is on right
General Ulysses Simpson Grant Fry was born after the Civil War to formerly enslaved parents. In 1904, General Fry opened his restaurant on the west side of Luray on the that led to the famous Luray Caverns. The restaurant was named after Fry, which he was proud of General Fry’s restaurant was a successful Black-owned business that created wealth for Fry. Fry also works hard as a farmer and janitor. The lot were the General Ulysses Simpson Fry Restaurant stood is now empty.
