The Beverly Manor Baptist Church was organized in 1874 by Rev. Abraham Bolen to serve the Brands Flats vicinity east of Staunton. The current church building is the second church. The first structure was located on a plot on the same road. Additions were built onto the present-day church 2000, including a fellowship hall, office space, kitchen, study, storage, and bathrooms. The church celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2024. The Beverly Manor Baptist Church Cemetery used today is located northwest of the church. There is an older cemetery 100 yards east of the present-day cemetery adjacent to the first church building near an old African American schoolhouse.
