The Smokey Row Baptist Church was organized in December 1921 in a small schoolhouse where Sunday school was held. The church held its first baptismal service one day later. Member Henry Smith obtained the present church property in 1923, who deeded the land to the church trustees. The corn stone was laid in September the following year and the completed building was dedicated in October 1924. The Fellowship (social) Hall was added to the church grounds in 1996. The church burial ground is located behind the church building. Eighteen burials were recorded by Joe Nutt in 2000.
