The Crimora School was established in 1889 as an African American school. The school opened in 1900 with one teacher. In 1926, the school was housed in a black church. The community requested a new school building and rented a room until it was built. The Crimora School’s last session was 1935 to 1936. The school closed due to a lack of enrollment, and the schoolhouse and lot were sold. The former school building has been renovated and is now a private residence.
