The Moring Star Baptist Church was organized in the late 19th century. In 1908, the land was deeded to church trustees for a church building and burial ground. The majority of church records are lost. It is unclear when the church was built; however, it is suggested that it was not long after the land was obtained. The church cemetery’s earliest marked tombstones date to 1908, 1909, and 1910, and the cemetery was likely used around the time of the deed. The Moring Star Baptist Church is still active today.
