The Hatton Pond Baptist Church and cemetery was founded in the small African American community of Hatton Pond. The community has all but disappeared, but the church remains as a symbol of the once community. Hatton Pond Baptist Church is one of the oldest African American churches on the county. The church was founded by Brother Braxton Sellers and Brother David Stuart in 1882. The congregation grew with families who live the area.
